Thanksgiving | 2020 Edition

Posted by Hayley Adams on Nov 25th 2020

Thanksgiving week can be filled with different things for different people. Sometimes it’s a group of good friends gathering for a potluck, or maybe it’s a big family get together, full of memory lane conversations (some that you might not want to relive). Other times it’s an evening spent serving others who may not have gotten a warm dinner, or maybe just a quick bite to eat and off to the stores for Black Friday shopping.

Whatever your Thanksgiving typically looks like, we know this year it might be spent a little differently. So we want to share with you some ideas on how you can give back to the community this year and even share a few deals to say thanks to all of our customers!

Giving Back

Disabled American Veterans - DAV

The DAV is a nonprofit that helps support over 1 million veterans and their families for a lifetime. Each year, the organization provides more than 600,000 rides to veterans who need assistance attending medical appointments with over 200,000 benefit claims. The DAV also helps veterans with employment by hosting job fairs and providing resources to ensure our heroes have the opportunity to join the workforce. Check out their website to find ways you can give back!

Veterans of Foreign Wars - VFW

The VFW is well known within our communities and consists of programs and services that work to support veterans, service members and their families, as well as communities worldwide. Besides helping fund the creation of the Vietnam, Korean War, World War II and Women in Military Service memorials, the VFW also became the first veterans' organization to contribute to building the new Disabled Veterans for Life Memorial, which opened in November 2010. Stars For Our Troops

Thank those that served and are serving! This amazing group of volunteers takes your old tattered and faded US flags and pass along the legacy of the embroidered stars to those that defended them. These stars can be mailed to anyone who has served, those who are still serving anywhere in the world, or any first responders. This is a great way to let our Military and Veterans know they are not forgotten and to thank our First Responders for all that they do.
