Product Description
Our American Cotton Interment Cotton Flags are stunning and decorative! Made from 2-Ply Cotton Bunting, these flags boast rich, vibrant colors that are perfect for indoor decor or special occasions. We do not recommend flying a cotton flag outdoors for an extended period, as they can shrink and fade when exposed to weather conditions. These timeless flags can elevate any Flag Day celebration or other special events. All our cotton flags feature sewn stripes, embroidered stars, and come with a canvas header and 2 brass grommets. Proudly made in America!

The American Flag consists of 50 stars representing the states and 13 stripes representing the original colonies. Known as the Stars and Stripes, Old Glory, and the Star-Spangled Banner, it carries deep symbolism: the blue field signifies vigilance, perseverance, and justice; red signifies hardiness and valor; and white signifies purity and innocence.
Contrary to popular belief, the first American flags were not always made of cotton. Early flags were made from whatever fabrics were available, including wool, linen, and silk. Wool was the most commonly used due to its durability. In 1865, President Lincoln mandated that the Federal government buy flag bunting from American manufacturers, further standardizing flag production.
Fun Fact: "Old Glory" was a nickname given by sea captain William Driver to a flag given to him by the women of his hometown, Salem, Massachusetts, in 1831. The term has since become synonymous with any American flag.
