Our Deluxe Indoor Presentation flagpole sets are beautiful displays that will bring together any stage, office, or embassy. All of our flags are American made, and sourced, using 200 denier nylon for an eye-catching, beautiful flag. The cord and tassel are made from the same gold rayon as the bullion fringe that borders the nation’s flag. The staff is made of durable oak and measures to 1¼” diameter; the staff is two-piece for easy storage, connected by a brass joint in the middle. Most presentation sets feature a brass staff spear, or flat spear, with an Elite 8lb or 15lb stand as well. The stand is universal between 1”, 1 5/32”, and 1¼” staffs.
This Barbados Flag features:
This beautiful tricolor flag of ultramarine-gold-ultramarine is chock full of symbolism. Gaining their independence in November 1966, and joining the Commonwealth realm, Barbados shed the flag that they held as a colony and created a new one. Designed by Grantley W. Prescod, the flag was chosen from an open competition arranged by the Barbados government. Prescod intended for the ultramarine to stand for the sea and sky, respectively for each band while the gold was to represent the sand. While all this seems to be basic symbolism, the “broken trident” is where the symbolism takes hold. The trident symbol for the current flag was taken from the colonial badge that was given to Barbados. The trident of Poseidon is shown being help by Britannia; with the staff “broken” off the trident. The intended significance of this is the symbolic break from the status of colony. The three points on the trident also exemplify the principals of democracy: government of the people, government for the people, government by the people.
