History of the COMMANDO HUNT VII 1971-1972 Battle Streamer

During the dry season of 1971-1972, the United States Air Force (USAF) launched COMMANDO HUNT VII, an air interdiction campaign primarily targeting enemy traffic along the Ho Chi Minh Trail in Laos. The campaign had three phases, involving bombing entry points, attacking transportation routes, and shifting air strikes between Laos and South Vietnam. The USAF also provided close air support for Laotian forces facing pressure from North Vietnamese troops. However, the missions became more perilous due to improved air defenses, including surface-to-air missiles.
